  • Request for Young People (ages 16-29) to fill out an Archdiocesan Survey
    July 14, 2017
CLICK TITLE TO BE TAKEN TO THE SURVEY. From the Archdiocese: "In preparation for the 2018 Synod on Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment, the Archdiocese of Hartford is requesting that all parishes and schools encourage their young people (ages 16-29) to fill out the Archdiocesan Survey for Young People at: https://oeec.typeform.com/to/qPt9f0 . Many dioceses throughout the world are preparing for the 2018 Synod of Bishops and this survey will help Archbishop Blair develop his report on the youth of the Archdiocese of Hartford for that Synod. More importantly, this survey will be beneficial for the Archdiocese, as it strives to hear and respond to the voice of our youth and young adults, who will have the chance to express their thoughts and concerns about their faith and values. Please help us by sharing the link to the survey with all your young people."

  • What is Tenebrae?
    March 27, 2017
The name ‘Tenebrae’ means darkness or shadows and it is a Holy Week devotion dating back to the 7th or 8th Century A.D. It is characterized by successive extinguishing of candles as the service progresses. No service during the entire church year is more biblical: Every word of Tenebrae is taken verbatim from the scriptures. The purpose of the service, through prayer and music, is to recreate the emotional aspects of the passion story and the events leading up to Good Friday; it is left unfinished, because the story isn’t over until Easter Sunday. Attending this powerfully moving service will set the tone, introduce the themes and adjust your heart and mind for the great events of the Passion and will help you prepare your heart for an even greater experience of Easter JOY! We will be having Tenebrae on Wednesday, April 12th at 7:30pm.
