In recognition of the continued uncertainty of the extent and duration of the current pandemic in Connecticut Archbishop Blair has extended the dispensation from the Sunday obligation through Saturday, November 28th. For his full statement please click the title.

This year's project will be to help an elderly woman in Avon. The house needs much repair, including painting and landscaping. Please consider joining us for this very worthy project. Sign up can be done by going to the St. Ann's website or pick up a form in the St. Ann Cares mail box in the church office hallway. Do you have an extra 15 minutes or so after Mass to spare? We are in need of volunteers to help wipe down the most frequently touched parts of the church after Mass. If you are able to help out, please contact Kris in the Parish Office and I will pass your name along to the organizers. Thanks!

Archbishop Blair has issued a statement on the resuming of public worship on Sundays (click title to link to full statement). We will resume our regular weekend Mass schedule starting Saturday, July 4th. The same guidelines that we have for weekday Masses will be in place (i.e. the wearing of face masks, 6 foot social distancing from those you do not live with and limits on the number of persons at any given Mass). Due to our limit of 100 persons at any given Mass we will unfortunately need to institute a sign-up process. We are currently working on having sign-ups online and if you don't have internet access you are able to call the Parish Office and Kris will complete this for you. Please note that the sign-up process will be a work in progress and will evolve as we see the numbers. We will post more information on this as soon as we have it!

Friday, June 19th is the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. “Our Lady of Guadalupe Prayer Group” invites parishioners to join them on Friday, June 19th at 3:15 p.m. for the Recitation of the Rosary and the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. Jesus’s Compassionate Heart burns with love for you. Let’ offer our heartfelt prayers to prove our love for Him. We will meet outside in the parking lot in front of the Statue of the Sacred Heart or in the church if it is raining. All Social Distancing Guidelines will be followed so please bring a mask with you. If you prefer to sit, please also bring a lawn chair. Thank you so much!

From the statement: "Given the constantly changing landscape, and the decisions of civil authorities in this regard, the cancellation of public Masses and liturgies in the Archdiocese of Hartford (the counties of Hartford, Litchfield, and New Haven) will remain in effect until further notice." From vaticannews.va: "The Pope also announced that on the following Friday, 27 March, he will preside over a moment of prayer on the sagrato of St Peter’s Basilica, the platform at the top of the steps immediately in front of the façade of the Church. “I invite everyone to participate spiritually through the means of communication”, he said. The ceremony will consist in readings from the Scriptures, prayers of supplication, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament; and will conclude with Pope Francis giving the Urbi et orbi Blessing, with the possibility of gaining a plenary indulgence for all those who listen to it live through the various forms of communication. The blessing “to the City [of Rome] and to the World” is normally only given on Christmas and Easter. The Director of the Holy See Press Office confirmed that the moment of prayer on Friday will be broadcast live from the Vatican, beginning at 6 pm Rome time.
