Members of the St. Ann RCIA team,
looking forward to journeying with you through RCIA! (George DeVita, Deacon Jeff Sutherland, Maureen Fiedler, Ann DiStefano, Deacon Tim Healy)
Congratulations to our 2019/2020 RCIA Initiates!
Please join us in congratulating Emma (Cecilia) MacSweeney, Christopher (Matthew) Bohnert, Thomas (Dymphna) Shannon, Stephanie (Genevieve) Brosseau, and Christian (John Paul II) Brosseau, on their recent anointing as disciples of Jesus and Spirit-filled members of His Church! Special thanks go to our wonderful RCIA team, priests and deacons, and music and liturgical ministers for creating such a beautiful initiation liturgy. This ceremony marks the last for Maureen Fiedler, who is stepping down as RCIA Coordinator. THANK YOU, MAUREEN, for your 20+ years of heartfelt dedication to those who seek full communion with the Church. You have blessed us with your unique gifts of welcoming, nurturing, faith-sharing and administrating. We will miss you!
Our 2020 candidates entering into full communion with the Catholic Church – praise God!
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), is the process for initiation into the Catholic Church for adults who have not been baptized, have been baptized in a different Christian tradition, or who have been baptized Catholic and have not received the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. The process includes several stages marked by study, prayer and rites at Mass. Participants undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
Our 2020 RCIA initates, at the Rite of Election/Call to Continuing Conversion at the Cathedral of St. Joseph on March 1, 2020
The facilitators of RCIA are members of St. Ann’s Parish who, as God’s stewards, are committed to share their time and talents as a knowledgeable and caring group who work with the RCIA candidates on a weekly basis teaching about the sacraments, doctrine and crucial matters of the catholic faith to those adults who wish to become fully received into the Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil Mass. In addition to preparation for weekly classes, team members attend various workshops and retreats throughout the year.
